They need more help especially at dinner time. Then I tried it and liked it. Those also serve authentic food like Orange Chicken and Fried Rice. I also had the hot and sour soup which was just grand. I'll try them again definitely and likely update my rating at that point.
But I keep going back. My wife and I are in town for a couple of days and we decided we wanted Chinese for lunch. Lunch special is definitely the best. I'll agree that for a little while they weren't doing that well but they've really made a comeback! My wife and I both love the General Tao's chicken, and our kids like the Lemon chicken. Favorites have been Kung pao chicken, general tso's chicken, and cashew chicken. About two minutes later food comes out, talk about fast food, never had my food cooked at such record speed in the past!! So go here if you like authentic Chinese food. I give it five out of five stars! There were a few other large groups and it didn't seem to be problem.
The portions were as expected for Chinese food. And not only did it not have extra spice, I think they forgot to spice it up altogether!! Although it has been awhile since we have dined in. Needs a bit of upkeep and cleaning done. They even let us split the check. I personally have come to love calling for take out cause the lady is no nonsense and always gets it right. But the chicken is good, the flavors are good, the portions are huge.
China Isle is my favorite Chinese restaurant in this area. The sauce gets all over the broccoli they serve it with which is perfection. Can't give my opinion on anything else because seriously that's all I've gotten ha ha. But they try hard and food is decent and filling. The food I had was pretty solid.
Won't make the mistake of eating there again!! Some of my other favorites are Asian Gourmet and Chinese Buffet. Generous servings of everything, includes the delicious flower soup and rice. The food is consistently good, even though the service isn't. . Rated Basically I go here for the honey walnut shrimp. Please check prices with the restaurant before visiting or ordering.
The service is absolutely outstanding!!!!!!! This is one of the best Chinese food places in Utah county that I have found. The egg drop soup came with crunchy noodles on top. Feeling rushed at this point for sure!! Maybe that's because I love Phó. She wants to know exactly when you'll be there so your food is hot and fresh. We now will never support China Isle ever again.
All in all, we have a new favorite Chinese restaurant when we come to visit our grandkids in Utah county. Menu including prices for China Isle may have changed since the last time the website was updated. For the last six months or so they've been doing really well with everything. The service was good and the food was very good. I liked the fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Wife let's call her Erin , ordered Chicken Lo Mein which was cooked perfect al dente, which means: when you throw it at the wall it should stick to it.
They server kept our water glasses filled. I deduct one star because they really need to update their decor and clean a bit more. I have to admit that I didn't go into the restaurant because I was lucky enough to have someone deliver the food to me not the restaurant because they don't deliver. The place has gotten a bit run down and not as neat and clean as it once was. I got the sesame chicken, which was exactly what I wanted out of it. So I have no idea about the service, the decor, the ambiance, or any of those other things you might be curious about. We then were able to get our food, but it was awful.
Water was brought a minute later, barely had time to look at the menu and waiter wanted to know what we wanted to order. Although if you get it to go, they won't give you the soup. Right now, they're right about a 3 for me, though if I hadn't gotten the Mongolian beef, they'd have been higher. It was the perfect blend of sweet, spicy, salty, and crispy. A friend from work took me here one day and I couldn't believe the value and taste for the price of their lunch special.
